2023 Easton Hype Fire (-5), and 2024 Easton Hype Fire (-5)
MSCL Illegal Bat Update
We are banning the 2023 Easton Hype Fire (-5), and 2024 Easton Hype Fire (-5) from all Divisions during tournament play. Perfect Game added these bats to the banned bat list, so we are following suit. Please see attached picture of bats we are referring to. Only the umpire or opposing team can check the bat. A bat check must occur during an at bat or after the completion of an at bat in order to be enforced. The opposing team cannot check the bat if 1 pitch has been thrown to the next batter who is not using the illegal bat.
See below for penalty for using banned bat:
- 1st Infraction - Player using the bat is OUT and the illegal bat is removed from play.
- 2nd Infraction - Head Coach and player using the illegal bat are both ejected from the game.
MSCL End of Season Tournament Annoucements
- All teams in all Divisions must present a written lineup at the home plate meeting prior to the game. The only allowable lineup variations are batting 9 (DH or no DH), 10 (EH only), or your entire team. All substitutions must be checked in to the umpire and opposing teams' scorekeeper unless you are battling your entire team. Also, in order to make sure games start on time, please have this lineup ready prior to plate meeting. If the lineup is not ready, the umpire will make you fill out before the game can start. All MSCL Umpires have been notified that they must receive a lineup from both teams prior to the start of the game.
- The higher seed will be the home team during all end of season tournament games. Time and run rules are the same as regular season.
- During the post season, additional innings will be played until a winner is determined. Extra innings will start with the team's last potential batter on 2nd and 0 outs.
